ཐི ₍ᐢ. ̞.ᐢ₎ ཋྀ Happy Halloween! ཐི ₍ᐢ. ̞.ᐢ₎ ཋྀ
It’s been one helllllllluva week and it’s only Tuesday. I am so behind on a bunch of things and I fully blame it on getting white girl wasted on the halloween party I went to on Saturday night. Anyway, my birthday weekend was fantastic.
Since today is Halloween, this week's playlist is themed for such occasion, but I think it can also transition nicely into fall weather.
ghouls, goblins, and ghosts
Little Bit O’ Soul by The Linda Lindas — The Linda Lindas? luv them, icons.
Perhaps Vampires Is A Bit Strong But… by Arctic Monkeys — I was obsessed with Arctic Monkeys during highschool, though I have never seen them live.
Twin Peaks Twist by Messer Chups — I have been listening to this song on repeat the past 3 weeks. Maybe biased because I love Twin Peaks, but it could also be that it's a good song.
The Cult Song by Shannon & The Clams — In my Intercultural Communication course we have been talking about cults and many of my students wanna do their final projects on them, which makes me really excited. Anyway, Shannon & The Clams, they hold such a very special place in my heart and I loveeeeeee all of their music. My favorite album from them is Onion, it's so good and reminds me of a lot of fond memories. I’ve never seen them live, which makes me a little sad :(
Let’s Have A Satanic Orgy by Twin Temple — Love this satanic doo-wop. I haven’t seen them live either but they do put on a lot of shows in LA.
In The Room Where You Sleep by Dead Man’s Bones — who woulda thought Ryan Gosling could make such cool bops.
She Comes Out at Night by Saccharin — Recently found this artist who describes themselves as pinkwave goth music from Clarksville, Tennessee. Goth ppl rlly are everywhere.
19080s Horror Film by Wallows — Every now and then I obsess over an artist for awhile — I was obsessed with Wallows at some point. Anyway, slay lesbian representation.
Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps) by David Bowie — You remind me of the babe (What babe?) The babe with the power. I recently rewatched Labyrinth. Ugh, I love that movie and Bowie.
In the Devil’s Territory by Sufjan Stevens — More folky, but such a bop. Also his newest album, Javelin, is really good too. He dedicated it to his late partner Evan Richardson.
El amor brujo (Love, the Magician) by Clara Rockmore & Nadia Reisenberg — I don’t think I’ve ever told anyone this but the theremin, it’s my favorite instrument. Like idk something about it. I have a private playlist of songs played on the theremin. I’m sad that not a lot of music/songs don’t include it anymore.
Be My Baby by The Ronettes — I rewatched Barbarian for the millionth time last night. It is easily one of my most favorite films. The perfect amount of horror and comedy.
