Que les puedo decir? I have fallen into the pits of sadness — maybe it’s because I have a vitamin D deficiency or some seasonal depression or maybe just my regular depression. Sepa la bola.
Some exciting news based on some feedback I got — there is now an IG dedicated to the newsletter. I’m not sure what I’m gonna be doing with it just yet. Maybe like a song a day or an album review. Idk yet but if you wanna follow it it’s @arislistening.club
Anyway, I’m trying to create a routine again. So here is the playlist for this week
Don’t forget about the spotify playlist!
Be sure to follow the Spotify playlist, which I update with each newsletter release —> Follow on spotify!! :)
There is also an entire playlist of 418 songs about 25hrs and 46mins worth of music of all the past playlists, which you can follow here
Sorry apple users, i don’t put that much effort in that streaming platform lol but y’all do have some of the individual playlists lol
about the playlist
This week's playlists consist of songs I’ve had on repeat lately.
My favorite being Maki by Oxis. I’ve been listening to them on repeat and it’s the only music where I don’t burst out crying. My second favorite is Latin Mafia, I actually saw them in SF last week with some friends. Concert was 100000/10 and their new album TODOS LOS DÍAS TODO EL DÍA is soooo good. I’ve recommended it to a bunch of folks already and they love it. Fun fact, the title of their songs are a poem of sorts.
1 Siento que merezco más
2 y como te digo que
3 nunca he sido honesto.
4 Me estoy cayendo
5 sentado aquí,
6 vivo si me exiges
7 pero me estoy acabando.
8 Qué vamos a hacer?
9 Yo siempre contesto
10 Ven,
11 tengo mucho ruido
Anyway, yo siempre contesto is one of my favorites from the album. The other two are siento que merezco más and vivo si me exiges. Lucy Dacus is releasing a new album. My favorite song so far of course is Limerence. The Lumineers are also releasing a new album too, their new song Same Old Songs scratches all the right parts in my brain, “I don't know what's wrong with me, I killed the mood so naturally the guests begin to make mе feel alone” (big mood recently). Their first two albums are some of my favorites to listen to back to back. I highly recommend doing that if you haven’t already.
Sooooooo much new music!!! It makes me excited to live. Sharon Van Etten with Trouble. Another favorite, Japanese Breakfast releasing a new album too. The first single is Orlando in Love. JBREKKIE just has this vibe I love. Speaking of vibes Ethel Cain with her new album Perverts. Oh yeah it’s a vibe for sure. My favorite song has been Vacillator— “if you love me keep it to yourself.”
Also bad bunny released a new album — I haven’t heard it all the way through yet. But I do like DtMF. And then some other classics I love and some current moods I have been feeling lately as well — Andrea True Connection, LCD Soundsystem, and Harry Styles. I’ll actually be going to a Harry Styles themed birthday party (I already got my ‘fit ).
sum of my favorite albums....
hiatus pt. 1
hello, i know just as i started this backup i am taking another hiatus LMAO but don’t worry i will leave you with some music. i will be taking a quick hiatus for the holidays! then i will be back i promise!
my favorite albums
The Power Out by Electrelane
Released in 2004 — this is one of my favorite albums to listen to in the morning or when I want something chill but still upbeat. I first came across this album in 2022. I at least listen to it once a month. I’m not sure how to describe this album. It’s a calming explosion? The piano, the saxophone, idk it’s a really beautiful album in my opinion. I would always play this in my old apartment in the mornings when I was getting my day started, making my morning coffee, and sipping it while I enjoyed the morning sun peaking through my windows. My favorite song from this album is You Make Me Weak At the Knees.
Vagabon by Vagabon
Released in 2019 — I came across this album and artist around 2020. I can listen to this album from cover to cover. She has such an amazing voice. This album is mellow, but is also upbeat. I would recommend listening to this midday when you’re on your lunch eating a sandwich outside while enjoying the sun kissing your skin. My favorite songs from this album are Full Moon in Gemini, Flood, Water Me Down. and Every Woman.
Amo XO by No Vacation
2015 — idk what to say about this album besides it’s perfect and I have loved it since forever. All of the songs are my favorite. Very chill vibes. Good to listen to in the morning, lunch, and evening. Whenever honestly.
happy listening!
just a perfect day....
I have officially started my 28 weeks winter vacation. I am excited to do nothing and have all of my days to do whatever I want (for the most part). I have also noticed I have been spending way toooooooo much time on my phone. So in December I am really going to try to disconnect from all the apps (except spotify of course). If you need to reach me — text me, call me, or write me a letter (my favorite). But no rlly I need to go outside more and read the six books I have yet to finish.
I am always torn between getting back to film or not. So I have been thinking about getting a point and shoot film camera (we’ll see). I recently watched Perfect Days (2023). It instantly became one of my favorite films and that is truly how I try to live my life — finding beauty in the most mundane things like the sun shining through the blinds and catching the dust in the air, how the sunset changes the colors in the sky, when you squish the dish soap bottle just right and a bunch of little bubbles come out, or when I wake up in the morning and the first thing to greet me is my dog as she does her little stretches and scooches on over to get some belly rubs. idk life is filled with so much beauty and I think we sometimes don’t appreciate much of it.

can't believe it's december.....
i cannot believe it is december already. a year ago today i was packing, selling, and donating all my stuff to move back to the west coast. time sure does fly by. maybe it's the beer i just had that’s kicking (i’m a lightweight) or maybe i am feeling nostalgic, but damn. i miss my little apartment and the east coast (only sometimes tho). it is always such a trip to think about the fact that i lived out there for 5 years, obviously i visited california whenever i could but i always felt like i was split in between two places. like two homes. but at the same time the two lives i had never quite merged into one and they always felt disconnected.
on the east coast my life seemed to be moving or constantly changing, but then i would come visit the west coast and that felt at times like things didn’t change at all. not in a bad way, maybe in a familiar way. like the place i call home still has that same chipped paint in the corner and there’s the same cross hanging on the wall that’s slightly crooked. but at the same time my parents have one more wrinkle on their face and they don’t move the same way they used to. and my siblings are a little older and have new things going on in their lives. the homies too are there. some of them have the same jobs and some have gotten new relationships, but they’ve grown up in some ways. but they are also the same people i have grown to love and care about.
the physical space too, new restaurants, some of the same people working there, some new folks. some of my favorite places that have closed down. so there are things that have changed. my heart has always been out here in the west coast and people have mentioned how i am so much happier over here. i do miss the east coast, my homies out there, my favorite coffee shop where i would work, my favorite places to eat, and the trail by my apartment that i loved to walk with my dog in the morning and evening. i know some of those things do change. everything changed right? everything changes and nothing is forever. people grow, places change, and nothing is certain in life. in fact life is full of uncertainty. like james baldwin said, “the world will change because it has to change.”
damn, i’m tearing up in this public food court. alright, sorry to have gotten all emo on y’all. it’s just that my life is much different than it was a year ago. not what i had pictured but i also didn’t have a set image of what it was going to look like or what i even wanted it to look like. it’s changed for the better i think. but i have lost friendships, my last grandparent, and so many other things in the process. i am surrounded by the people i love though and that does make me happy. a year ago today, i was crashing on my friend umi’s couch bc my lease was up in my apartment and we didn’t hit the road until a week after. i saw so many things once we started our road trip. the main things i wanted to see was white sands (again) and visit a waffle house LMAO what can i say i’m a simple guy who likes simple joys in life. anyway, i did hella driving — we started on december 9th and got to our final destination on december 22nd. what a crazy time.
not sure how to end this now that i’ve gotten all emo, but damn. time sure does fly by. i’ve also had a lot of good things come my way btw! there is happiness in the unknown. as i was typing this i saw 444 so i guess i’m where i’m supposed to be. anyway, enjoy the playlist!

Can I keep it up?
second playlist of november… can i keep it up?????
Wilddddddd……… this is the second newsletter of november. i am actually gonna stick with it. anyway, for october its been so chilly in the bay area. i am dreading when it’s actually winter here bc i know it will be million times colder. i recently bought an oscilloscope so that i could connect it to my record player. i can’t say it’ll make the music sound better (it won’t) but when connected right you can get visuals of the music playing. think way back when on the windows media player that had the sound visualizer. anywho, i’m a fucking nerd about this, but idc i am so excited to get it working. i am missing one part, which i am hoping to pick up tomorrow.
you can say this was my one last birthday gift to myself LMAO already in the middle of november (it’s still scorpio szn sooooo). no the real last gift i got myself was a photography book that i have been lusting over for the past two years. it is the Lucha Libre: The Family Portraits by Lourdes Grobet, one of my favorite photographers. it is supposed to come today so i am very excited about it. i will share pics in the next newsletter!
about the playlist.
i’ve had these songs on repeat since the last newsletter. you can’t go wrong with the rolling stones i’ve also had this song kinda stuck in my head for the past 3 weeks now. And then the Sophie Thatcher cover of knockin’ on heaven’s door— tooooooo good. i saw heretic and this cover is part of the soundtrack. i enjoyed the movie, not my favorite, but it was interesting. not scary at all mostly psych thriller. I Got Heaven by Mannequin Pussy, when she sings “And what if Jesus himself ate my fucking snatch? And what if I'm an angel?” LOVEEEEEEEEEE ITTTT. That’s my favorite part tbh. I love disco and i love ABBA what can i say??? Also love Queen and The Proclaimers. Their songs got stuck in my head while i was driving to work/home. Jerkin’ by Amyl and The Sniffers!!! I have been thinking about these foos for a hot minute. they are bringing something that has been missing from music. when i first heard these foos back in 2022 I was like okay they’re eventually gonna blow up and I am happy they did. Louis Armstrong….. in honor of falling down on the sidewalk in New Orleans two years ago LMAO Labi Siffre, i was listening to this album this morning while getting ready. i would recommend this as a morning/getting ready album. LASTLY, an oldie but goldie….. Constant Headache by Joyce Manor….. I listened to this song for an hour straight on sunday… these lyrics…
You having sex in the morning
Your love was foreign to me.
It made me think maybe
Human's not such a bad thing to be.
But I just laid there in protest
Entirely fucked.
It's such a stubborn reminder
One perfect night's not enough.
Anyway! ENJOYYYYY!<3

November’s Music Newsletter (1)
So yeah…. things do not always go as planned, but after a bunch of bugging from some of you (all out of love of course). I am once again attempting to bring this back LMAO idk y’all there has definitely been something going on lately the past couple of months. Idk what but I couldn’t quite have things figured out. Not in a bad way, but I don't know, my lust for life and desire to do things was abysmal. All part of process…. you should give yourself grace….I know I know. I am trying. Definitely giving myself grace in all the things I said I was gonna do, but have not.
Anywho, I also have not been listening to anything new. I have had the same three songs on repeat for the past 3 months….Don’t delete the kisses by Wolf Alice, Oh So Close, Yet So Far by Shannon and The Clams, and Viento by Caifanes. All good songs tbh.
October was great. I did the things I wanted to do like go to concerts and spend time with the folks I love. And I hope to be doing that more as 2024 wraps up. I am trying to get settled into doing the things I love again…. like taking pictures and this newsletter <3
Songs I’ve had on repeat lately mostly! There are some new ones in there too. My friend and I agreed that The Shacks cover of Crimson and Clover is the best version of this song. I have also been thinking or doing I guess grieving… mostly thinking about my grandpa. But also grieving the loss of things, things I had wished for and yearned for. And y’know sometimes things do not turn out the way you want them to and idk there's this feeling that Sweeter by Perfume Genius captures for me. Things always change and nothing in life is certain, y’know? I also started listening to Vagabon's first album (one of my favorites) which I fully recommend you listen to. Then track 6 Mabuse features one of my favorite bands— Las Ligas Menores, who I have no idea when I’ll be able to see them live, but I also love the little spotify art video because it includes creature from the black lagoon and that is my favorite classic monster. In My Dreams by Habibi I love love loveeeeeee this song rn. They opened for Shannon and the Clams. They were amazinngggggggggggg. Alright, I’ll quit yapping. Please enjoy Novembers playlist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3

How’s it going? I am attempting to get this back going, so fingers crossed I stick to it! My summer has come to an end (officially employed again). But the last bit of the summer I did have it was everything I needed. I went to Mexico again and idk how to explain it, but I felt so at peace. I honestly want to go back again. I took a small lil’ road trip down to SoCal. I stayed in LA for a few days, saw Las Marias, I got to see some of my favorite people, and I ate some good food. Then I drove even further down to San Diego and I saw more folks I love. I even got to meet my friend's lil’ baby, who is so very adorable. San Diego is always soooooo beautiful to me, but that just might be my water sign and San Diego being so close to the ocean. Who knows, I may just move down to SoCal because why not?

Sent out on Wed, Jul 3
How’s everyone doing? It’s been awhile. I’ve taken a much longer hiatus than I meant to, but I’ve also been enjoying it a lot. Partly due to the fact that I have not been listening to any music or hardly any I should say. Life has also just been happening, especially last month— my grandpa passed away, I finished my doctoral degree (officially a doctor!), and my dad had knee replacement surgery. Helllllla things. Anyway, for the most part I have really been enjoying the time I have off until I start my new job in September. I’ve been spending it with my family, my dog, and the homies. So overall I have been doing very well. Or as I should say my favorite quote, meme, manifestation??? — Unbothered. Moisturized. Happy. In My Lane. Focused. Flourishing.
Anyway, as you can see I am trying to remake/revamp(?) the newsletter. I’m not sure of how I want it to look quite yet soooooo plz forgive me if the design changes for a while each time I send a newsletter out. I am going to keep doing the newsletter. Because so many of you texted me after I sent the last email saying not to get rid of it :’) love y’all <3 and also love the folks who completed the survey, also love ya’ <3
I do wanna say that I don’t think I am quite ready to come out from my hiatus fully yet. So for the summer I might send out another one or two newsletters. But I did want to send along my summer vibes! So enjoy :)

Death by dissertation
Ari’s Listening Club | 04.09.2024
Buenos días!
I have no playlist for y’all this week. Well I kinda do. It is my dissertation playlist, meaning it's all the songs I’ve been listening to on repeat while I finish up my dissertation. So if you wanna check it out feel free to :)
Notable mentions on from that playlist:
Good Luck, Babe! by Chappell Roan — This song has me on a chokehold. This song got released last week on Friday (EST). It’s already my 2nd most streamed song for this month. Anyway, love that Chappell Roan is giving us queer pop.
MARCIANO by FLAKO STIK — I love listening to tech house music when I’m doing repetitive tasks. ¿Un marciano sentado en el ala de un vuelo de taca que quiere entrar?
Born to Be Alive by Patrick Hernandez — I’m just a big fan of disco
Also so sorry to Apple users, no playlist for y’all :(

It’s April and Aries season! Anyway, this week’s playlist is just a bunch of songs I like. I guess the theme for this week is also space. Don’t hit shuffle on this one!

・-・・ ・ - ・・ - --・ --- by unknown — This song comes from the album Erased Tapes 20・・---0. It has various artists, but that’s as much as you know. Also wild, the song has a different beginning in the Spotify version than the Apple version. I like the spotify version, which is why I put it first. This is how the spotify version sounds for you apple users.
Shriek (Variation) by Metropolis Ensemble, Paul Wiancko, and Wye Oak
Amargura by Ramona y Daniel, Me Estás Matando —Love both these foos so much.
Perfect Day by Rufus Wainwright — This is such a good cover of Lou Reed’s song.
Good Times by Surely Tempo — I’ve been trying to go see a live show of theirs, but each time I keep missing them.
Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft by Carpenters — This is one of my favorite songs to listen to randomly.
The Moon Ain't Made of Green Cheese by Billy Cobham
Life on Mars? by David Bowie— This song just makes me think of the movie Bowie was in, The Man Who Fell to Earth. It’s been awhile since I’ve watched it, but I do think it’s worth one watch.
Ladies and gentlemen, we are floating in space by Spiritualized
II HANDS II HEAVEN by Beyoncé — I really like the 2000’s electronica beat. It reminds me of Bloc Party/Imogen Heap. Purple sunsets in the desert? That’s the whole vibe of this song.
holyholyholy by Lillie West and Lala lala
Star Power by Sonic Youth
Aries by Gorillaz, Peter Hook, and Georgia — C’mon I gotta include this song since it’s aries szn.
Jupiter Crash by The Cure
Theatre - Live At Narcissus by Etta Marcus — This Live At Narcissus has been on repeat for me.
Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd

We are all looking at the same moon...
Ari’s Listening Club | 03.25.2024
Buenos días!
Mi mama me dijo, “Marzo se está yendo como agua.” And she was right, but I also feel like se está yendo muy despacio también. Lunar eclipse… me está agarrando de la cola de caballo y dándome unos putasos en la cara, only emotionally of course. So this playlist is dedicated to the moon.
Also, I have this master playlist on Spotify of all the songs I’ve included on my playlists (no repeats). It’s been 311 songs, 18 hr 59mins worth of music (including this week's playlist), crazzzzzzzyyyyy. You can follow it here. Sorry Apple users I will not be making one on Apple.
⋆⁺‧₊☽. ◯. ☾₊‧⁺⋆
⋆⁺‧₊☽ bajo la misma luna ☾₊‧⁺⋆
(hit shuffle on this one)
The Moon Is In The Wrong Place by Shannon & The Clams
Real Or Magic by Shannon & The Clams — I’ve been listening to the three newest singles that Shannon & The Clams came out with on repeat. I think this album is going to be a really good one. Which makes me a little sad because this album comes out of grief. Shannon’s fiancé was killed in a car accident weeks before their wedding. So the band took to writing about their grief and trauma.
i heard you were looking like the moon by Richard Orofino
Harvest Moon by Neil Young — Neil Young and Joni Mitchell music is back on Spotify after they both had left two years ago for this misinformation about Covid-19 vaccines in podcasts.
Moonlight on the River by Mac DeMarco
La Lune by Billie Marten
Half Moon by Janis Joplin
I Wish I Was the Moon by Neko Case— I'm so tired // I'm so tired // And I wish I was the moon

The Wind Blows
Ari’s Listening Club | 03.19.2024
Buenos días!
Imagine this…. you are going to be traveling to celebrate one of your homies birthday. You arrive at the airport with plenty of time to spare, the hustle and bustle of travelers creating a dynamic backdrop to your adventure. You’re chilling just people watching, living life, y’know?
Suddenly, your gaze is drawn to the flight status screen, and a sinking feeling settles in your stomach as you read the dreaded words: "Flight Cancelled." The disappointment washes over you like a wave, compounded by the realization that all other flights for the day have met the same fate, succumbing to the whims of the weather gods !! Eventually, they start opening up flights again later in the day and you’re able to book one. But now you gotta be in the airport for 3hrs. What do you do?
You get yourself a steaming cup of coffee from a nearby cafe, its rich aroma awakening your senses and providing a comforting embrace amidst the chaos. Accompanied by a decadent chocolate croissant, each bite becomes a moment of indulgence, a small pleasure amidst the uncertainty. As you settle into a comfortable spot, you find solace in the simple joys of people-watching. The chaos of the airport fades into the background, replaced by the music coming from your headphones…..
That happened to me last week. So that is the vibe for this week's playlist because I made it while I waited for 3hrs. Not the worst layover I’ve had tbh. Anyway, enjoy! If you’re an Apple music user, guess what… I got Apple music now so enjoy it there!

IDK here's this week's playlist
Ari’s Listening Club | 03.12.2024
Buenos días!
I love soundcloud so much because of all the mixes and songs people upload. Recently, there have been two Ethel Cain mixes (that maybe) have come across your FYP on tiktok. I am obsessed with them. They're so fucking good and if people don't start playing them at clubs, missed opportunity. Anyway, I'm sharing the links so y'all can listen to them.
ETHEL CAIN x CHER - DO U BELIEVE IN LIFE AFTER CRUSH
Sun Bleached Flies X Dancing On My Own - Ethel Cain, Robyn
Anyway, this week's playlist doesn't have much thought behind it. Pisces szn plus the time switch have fucked with me. Enjoy this playlist, it has some good songs in there.
IDK it’s a playlist?
1000 Times by Big Blood — The vibe for this week is loosely based off of this song. I am obsessed with it.
Soft Stud by Black Belt Eagle Scout — I feel like this song didn’t get the love it deserves so I am putting on this playlist again.
Big and Kind by NONBINARY GIRLFRIEND — Anyone need some affirmations?
Heteronormative Horseshit Blues by Shilpa Ray— If someone did you dirty recently… this is the song for you.
Miracle Fruit by Molly Lewis — People don’t whistle anymore. My old roommates would make fun of me because I would whistle when I did my silly little tasks. Molly Lewis made a whole career out of whistling, crazzzzyyyyyy. Anyway, good background music when you don’t want so much talking, but also don’t want the typical jazz stuff.
Strange by Galaxie 500 — I went and saw Lisa Frankenstein a few weeks ago with some homies. This was on the film soundtrack and ever since then it’s been stuck in my head.
I Don’t Know You by Mannequin Pussy — These foos again? Yes, I loveeeeee this album. This is another banger from said album…. listen to I Got Heaven !!!
Light On by Dehd— Of course, another Dehd song too. Not as good as Mood Ring in my opinion, but it’s still pretty good. I just like how their music is a little different than what’s popular in the indie scene currently.
Nostalgia by Yot Club— Nostalgia rlly does follow you huh?
yesterday I was in London by UCHE YARA — I love uche, can’t wait until she releases a full album.
Lovefool by zzzahara — Who doesn’t love a good cover?
Tragos Amargos by Ramón Ayala Y Sus Bravos Del Norte — ¿Quién rompió mi corazón? Nadie, simplemente no puedo sacarme esta canción de la cabeza.

March the 3rd... Gay boy
Ari’s Listening Club | 03.04.2024
Buenos días!
It's not March the 3rd, but we are in the middle-ish of pisces szn. The reference to the subject line comes from Amy Winehouse. Pisces szn has been treating me well and I hope it’s treating y’all well too! Since it’s pisces szn and some of my favorite people in the world are pisces and/or have some pisces placements in their big three, I’m dedicating this playlist to them. I think pretty qualified as I dated a pisces for 5 years and 2 of my best homies are pisces.
𓇼 ⋆。˚ 𓆝⋆。˚ 𓇼 pisces bbys 𓇼 ⋆。˚ 𓆝⋆。˚ 𓇼
Loud Bark by Mannequin Pussy — I have been obsessed with this song AND this album since last week. Mannequin Pussy *chefs kiss* ANYWAY, I think this song fully shows a pisces personality. People give a lot of shit to pisces for being emotional, but here’s the thing about water signs — scorpios do not have a loud bark but do have a deep bite. Cancers have a loud bark and no bite at all. But pisces, y’all they got both loud bark AND a deep bite.
Be Sweet by Japanese Breakfast — I’ve truly never met a pisces who is shady. They put their best foot forward and hope it gets reciprocated.
Les Fleurs by Minnie Riperton — Another song that really shows what a pisces is about. Pisces are vulnerable, always willing to try new things, and just always see the best in people.
16 CARRIAGES by Beyoncé — I’ve never met a pisces who didn’t have a hard adolescence. Is this just a thing that all pisces gotta go through?
It’s Not Just Me, It’s Everybody by Weyes Blood — Pisces just wanna get known and appreciated for who they are. They have such a strong desire to be known on such a deep level. They also wanna be loved for who they are. Unlike cancer placements who tend to project their emotions onto people, scorpios just keep it to themselves, but pisces they wear their emotions on their sleeves in a very intentional way, which I love.
Alone Again (Naturally) by Gilbert O’Sullivan — Just because they wear their emotions on their sleeves doesn’t mean they aren’t dramatic. C’mon water signs live for the theatrics so of course they gotta sulk and be alone for a minute or a day. You just gotta let them deal with it first.
I Was Neon by Julia Jacklin — Another thing, they really trust people and then once someone does them dirty they cut them off or they give them 10 more chances. There’s not really a gauge on this. Another thing they do when in love or pursuing love they lose themselves.
Love On The Brain by Rihanna — To be loved by a pisces LOL I googled Rihanna’s horoscope… you won’t believe… She's a pisces.
Nothing Matters by The Last Dinner Party— Pisces do like to bet on losing dogs… “I'm putting all my bets on you // I hope they never understand us”
…Baby One More Time by Brittney Spears — Pisces really do trust ppl or maybe it could be just the pisces moon placements I know. Because those foo’s keep giving ppl chances.
Unfucktheworld by Angel Olsen — Again…… “I quit my dreaming the moment that I found you // I started dancing just to be around you.” They lose themselves in love, but they find themselves again.
HEAVYWEIGHT by ill peach — “I had to cut out all my insides, insides I'm just tryna keep it light, tryna keep it light … Heavyweight” like yeah, you rlly fucked them over, but they really try to smooth it over.
Valentina by Dreamer Isioma — “She's a dreamer from the moon // See how she sways, she owns the room” — Big dreamers, but also once they step into their element.
Money by Rico Nasty feat. Flo Milli — One thing about pisces… “I ain't coming in 'less you get my friends in” — if they’re gonna eat, their friends are also gonna eat.
Big Energy by Latto — Yeah, okay sure, pisces are crybabies, but they’re also bad bitches.
It’s Givin by Latto— Once they realize that other people ain’t shit and they get into their pisces energy or become evolved or whateva’ that’s rlly when they shine.
THIQUE by Beyoncé— Literally witnessing one of my homies coming into her element once she dropped a man who was giving her whiplash.
HOT TO GO! by Chappell Roan —If you haven’t heard her album wtf are you doing? It’s so fucking good. Anyway, “I try not to care, but it hurts my feelings” …. pisces coded.

alien encounter in rural new Hampshire
Buenos días!
I’m gonna get right into this week's playlist — it’s centered around this song Pillow Talk by Lustt. So a very trusted source (one of the homies; @tidesofyouth) sent me this song last week. Since she sent it to me it has been on repeat and I cannot get it out of my head.
alien encounter in rural new Hampshire
Pillow Talk by Lustt — I love this song, but my absolute favorite part is how she sings these lines “You can't find love on a one way street // It takes two to tangle // takes two to even compete.”
Manipulating the Whores of the Glendale Wells Fargo Cabaret by Part Time — I think this is one of the wildest song names I’ve ever come across.
Acaríciame by Susana Estrada — This song I think fully encapsulates who Susana Estrada is
Too Many Drugs by Rigoberta Bandini — Don’t ya’ hate when there’s too many drugs y muy poco espíritu?
Yes Sir, I Can Boogie by Baccara — This song was written by a sagittarius and a libra. I think you can tell.
I Feel Love - 12” Version by Donna Summer — This is the only version of this song that you need to listen to.
High-Flying by Hiromasa Suzuki — Technically not disco more jazz than anything. But it fits with this playlist. This song is from the album High-Flying, which I hope to own one day and also recommend if you like jazz.
Mother Nature’s Bitch by Okay Kaya — From the album Watch This Liquor Pour Itself (fully recommend listening to it). I was obsessed with this song too when I first heard it way back when.
Wonderful Offer by Essential Logic— Feels like a polyamorous / ethical non-monogamous anthem
Veronica’s House of Tarot by Psychic Mirrors— What would you like, the conscious, the subconscious and the superconscious?
Follow Me by Amanda Lear — If the Hellraiser franchise was less goth and more disco — it would be this song.
Where Is My Man by Eartha Kitt
NAUFRAGE EN HIVER by Mikado

The club is bumping….
Ari’s Listening Club | 02.19.2024
Buenos días!
Damn, February sure is flying by. Anyway, welcome to all the new folks that so kindly subscribed to my newsletter :) Literally got fourteen new folks! I truly appreciate it! And I really hope I keep with this little passion project. With that being said I know it says Ari’s listening club lol but if you ever want to tell me to do more of a certain genre lmk orrrrrr you can send me some of your favorite songs and I’ll include it in the playlists :)
Also, I do have a playlist that I switch out with the songs of the week so follow/like it here. I also have all 232 songs that have been included in every playlist so far, which you can follow/like here.
Alright, getting to this week's theme… It's synth-pop(?). I’ve been listening to it non-stop and it’s one of those genres that never gets old for me. Hit shuffle on this one!
The club is bumping, the ladies look good, the alcohol is flowing. There is much pain in the world but not in this room right now
Space Age Love Song by A Flock of Seagulls — OKAY imagine someone creating a cute little montage video of you to this song??? idk that’s pretty heckin’ cute
Lips Like Sugar by Echo & the Bunnymen — Who doesn’t like sugar kisses?
Temptation - Alternative 7” Mix by New Order — It sucks that Ian Curtis committed suicide, which ended Joy Division, but idk then we wouldn’t have gotten New Order and this wouldn’t be one of my favorite songs in the world.
Goodbye, Horses by Q Lazzarus & Garvey — When I was taking exams about a year ago this was one of the songs I would play on repeat.
(I’ll Never Be) Maria Magdalena by Sandra — Idk it was just ash wednesday last week, gotta honor the catholics I guess
Voyage voyage by Desireless
Behind the Wheel by Depeche Mode— I couldn’t make up my mind on a Depeche Mode song so I asked my friend what her favorite song was. This was one of two. The other was Blasphemous.
Images of Heaven by Peter Godwin — This is one of my favorites. Fun little fact, it did not get uploaded into Spotify up until last year so I could only listen to it on Youtube for I think the past 5 years since I first found it.
So In Love by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark — Heaven is cold // Without any soul // It's hard to believe // I was so in love with you
Watching Trees by Eleven Pond
Always on My Mind by Pet Shop Boys — This has become a queer anthem. It has been in 3 queer films that I’ve watched within the past 3 years. So yeah idk this song just holds a special place in my heart. There’s a series called Veneno (2020), which is a docu/biopic series of Veneno/Cristina Ortiz Rodríguez, a Spanish trans woman. They did a really good job at hiring trans women to play her at different stages in her life. Anyway, there is a scene where Veneno is dancing on the dance floor to this song by herself but the way it’s shot shows Veneno at different ages. I sobbed when I first saw this scene and I still do. Idk it just does something to me. If you wanna watch the scene you can watch it here. I think if you watch the entire series up to that point it makes more sense.
I've caught the luvbug...

Buenos días!
It’s love season. We’re accepting all forms of love as long as it is reciprocated. Key thing is that you are only accepting the same level of love you give out. If they ain’t matching your energy walk away babes. 2024 no more crusty ppl that don’t give you the love you deserve. I know it’s hard because it’s hard for me too. Keep this in mind though — to be loved is to be considered.
AND if you feel like you have sooooooooo much love to give that you’re bursting at the seams with it … give it to yourself because the love will never go to waste there. You can also give it to the homies.
This week’s playlist. As you can see the theme is love. This playlist is rlly long, but I love love. I am a Mexican man, all I know is love. I also love love songs and rom-coms. This playlist coulda been longer (believe me). Anyway, enjoy!
Mood Ring by Dehd — This is my favorite band. They are my top 2 most listened to artists with 14, 352 minutes streamed. crazzyy. Idk how to describe their music style exactly, I guess post punk, surf rock, and garage rock. I’ve met them before and they’re rlly nice and their music is great. Anyway, last week they announced their 5th studio album so I am super stoked. This is the first single they dropped. They also put out one of their silly little music videos. Favorite part of the song is: I-I-I-I can't believe that he's with me // He's everything I need, my sexy little angel
Give You My Lovin by Mazzy Star — I don’t think I gotta say much about this song. It's an amazingly beautiful song.
Gimmie All Your Love by Alabama Shakes —I am sure I have featured this song in another weekly music playlist. I am also sure I am repeating myself when I say that this song is full of passion and soul. All thanks to the electric guitar and Brittany Howard’s vocals. Who btw just put out an amazing solo album.
Always Be My Baby by Mariah Carey — I love this song. This song to me is like a kid with a candy bag where I can’t just listen to this song once. I gotta hear it more times until it’s out of my system. Also, the rom-com Always Be My Maybe (2019) is one of my favorites.
Si Nos Dejan by José Alfredo Jiménez — I don’t know who I am marrying but, 1) I am gonna have a wedding and 2) this song is gonna be played at said wedding.
Otherside by Perfume Genius — Y’know when you’re in love and that person just gives you peace? That’s what this song is to me. Another good album by Perfume Genius is Set My Heart On Fire Immediately. It’s one of those albums that I can listen to back to back. I think most of his songs deal with being in mlm relationships.
Home by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros — Oh yeah, this is definitely what love sounds like.
Crimson and Clover by Tommy James and the Shondells — This song? Top tier. Around 2:30 the tremolo effect with vocals like c’monnnnn. Joan Jett also does a cover, but it’s more rock. The Shacks also have a cover of this song and Shannon Wise’s vocals are great.
You’re All I Need to Get By by Aretha Franklin — I love Aretha’s version.
Si Me Faltaras Tu by Thee Lakesiders — This whole song is very beautiful, but this part: Sueño con tus caricias // Que me brindan tu amor // Que cosa tan divina // Es abrazarte con ansiedad // Que cosa tan divina // Es abrazarte con ansiedad
To Love by Suki Waterhouse —"Is there a universe where our paths never crossed?” Recently watched Past Lives. Ya’ my ass was sobbing at 3am.
The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack — I don’t know how to explain how this song makes me feel
Algo Contigo by Rita Payés & Elisabeth Roma —Would you rather be the one to be desired or be the one to desire?
Just Like Heaven by The Cure — This has got to be one of the ultimate love songs and definitely one of my favorites.
Eres Tu by Carla Morrison — Carla Morrison live is such a beautiful experience. You wanna feel that deep deep love, this is that song.
The Best by Tina Turner — I have a playlist of just this song sung by different artists.
Bury Me by duendita — Last time I was in love was 5 years ago. crazzzyyyyyyyyyyy.

Buenos días!
I am writing this as I am taking a break from writing some cards to my friends para el dia de san valentin y la amistad. I never really liked this “holiday.” But an ex made me realize that it ain’t all just about romantic love. So I always try to send the homies a cute little card.
Anyway, I started rewatching twin peaks yesterday. I always forget how much I really love this series. And I am just now realizing I am a fan of David Lynch. Eraserhead (1977) yeah, I think about that movie at least once a week. Why does that baby look like that ???? I recently watched Blue Velvet (1986). ALSO loved it. Kyle MacLachlan, what a cutie. OKAY SOOOOO, this playlist has twin peak/david lynch vibes. Perfect for gloomy weather or if you’re feeling sluggish or content. 10/10 great for background music.

On Repeat / 01.23.2024
Buenos días!
These are the songs I’ve had on repeat lately. Not much else to this weeks playlist... Si eres chismosx y quieres saber más de el lore de unas de las canciones text me.
On Repeat
Tangerine by Led Zeppelin — I was her loveeee, she was my queennn !!!!!!!!
Ojos Del Sol by Y La Bamba — This fucking song right here. One of the most beautiful songs ever made — Eres culpable por donarme tentación // En tus ojos me desvelo // Y tus labios me buscan en la oscuridad
Wasted Summers by juju — I’ve been thinking a lot about this past summer — tuve un sueño sobre el verano y me hizo sentir de alguna manera. But also this song is so freaking catchy.
Dream A Little Dream of Me by The Mamas & The Papas — Yeah Ozzie Nelson sang this first back in 1931, but Mama Cass’s version is the best one.
Tu Falta de Querer by Mon Laferte — Necesito desesperadamente que me rompan el corazón pronto para poder sentir realmente esta canción, las aplicaciones están abiertas
Highway Tune by Greta Van Fleet — I’ve been listening to a lot of GVF lately.
In Between Days by The Cure — This is currently my favorite Cure song. I think it just does a rlly good job at the anxiety I’ve been having lately and not being able to put words into it.
Stay by Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs— This is a song from the Dirty Dancing movie, which had a lot of bops.
Needing / Getting by OK GO — A whole month I’ve been having this song on repeat — It don't get much dumber // Than trying to forget a girl when you love her !!!!
Backstreets by Shannon & The Clams — S/O to my one ex for showing me this band and now when I listen to this song I think of this one memory. Anyway, it’s a good song and a great band.
